The Missouri Option Program offers the opportunity to earn a high school diploma for students who are at least 17 years old, enrolled in a Missouri public or charter school, and at risk of not graduating with their cohort.

Students who are enrolled in the Missouri Option Program must complete the following to earn their diploma.
 
Course Work - at least 1/2 credit in each of the following courses:
Health
Personal Finance
American Government
 
End of Course Exams (EOC's) - complete each of the following end of course assessments:

Algebra 1
English 2
Biology
American Government
 
Exit Exam - one of the following assessments:
ACT
ASVAB
WorkKeys
 
Additional Requirements: 
Pass CPR Training
Pass the United States Constitution Test
Pass the Missouri Constitution Test
Pass the Civics Test
 
The Missouri Option Program allows students to show competency by testing out of each of the following content areas (equaling 4 years of each subject content standards).

Reading
Writing
Math
Science
Social Studies
 
Competency can be proven with a passing score on the HiSet (High School Equivalency Test) and/or the GED (General Educational Development) Exams.  The differences between the two exams can be seen on the High School Equivalency website at https://dese.mo.gov/college-career-readiness/high-school-equivalency.
